Sticky Note!!

We are back in business!!! Just not quite put back together :)...yet. Our new location is at 2012 Lakin Avenue. Internet and phone have finally made it to our destination too. If you need to reach me to schedule a session you may call the studio...792-5300. Please feel free to leave a message if I don't answer and I will get back to you as soon as I am able. As I am trying to catch my breath and catch up please be aware that viewing of your proofs and order delivery is falling a little behind. I appreciate your patience. :)

Studio hours are Monday thru Friday 12:00 to 5:30.

Thank You!!!

What a day yesterday was…what am I talking about?!?- Try “what a couple of months”!!! But the good news is there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!! (Sigh…)

Since today is JULY 1! How crazy is that!!!! It meant that I needed to be totally moved out of the old place last night! Even though I didn’t thank that there was much left it all still takes precious time and there are only so many hours in one day (Thank You God)…I had “end of the month” things to do at the jail (remember I am the jail nurse now too), 3 sessions, numerous phone calls to return-you get the idea. So even though it was just a FEW things- it was a few too many. And then I had to vacuum and do that last little bit of cleaning- AND then clean off the name on the old window AND then…it just goes on :)

Good news? We are COMPLETELY moved! Done! Keys turned over! Yippee!!!

I just want to say thank you to all you guys who have helped out in anyway during the last several months. I wish that I could name you all…Thank You for your patience, your understanding, your encouragement, your advice, for listening…I love you guys! I wouldn’t be where I am today without you!!!

Big Thanks to Jennifer…we put in a lot of hours together girlie!!! Big hugs! Thanks for even coming back over last night to set the desk and computer up. Supper tonight! Your choice!

HUGE Thanks to Rhonda & Mike-could NOT have done it without you guys!

Thanks to Jerry and Kaylene Kern. They have been awesome landlords! I so appreciate their patience and understanding with my uncertain departure date. :)

and Thanks to Shala for helping me get that monster desk yesterday when I was ready to have a total meltdown!!! Who am I kidding when I WAS having a meltdown! That is what happens you know- when you have jail duties to do, a move to finish, 3 sessions scheduled for the day, your studio is in disarray, you don’t have any phone or internet and you don’t even have a desk to lay your head down and CRY!!!

Now referring to yesterdays post…Christina-I had to chuckle too-when I caught on! When I first read Christina’s comment from yesterdays post I thought what the heck? I am ready to have a nervous breakdown and she is…

“ROLF! Thanks for the giggle this morning, Pam! Sounds like the move is going great” ???

Hello! What is there to giggle about????? I can’t think of a single thing!

Fast forward to the next email I read from Audra an English teacher…

“The electricity was shit off, eh? :) HAD TO DO IT or I’m not an English teacher!!!! :) Love you!”

-then I caught on and GIGGLED I did. BIG belly laugh, tears to my eyes laugh, the kind that is so good for you!!! And Rhonda laughed and Jennifer laughed and Kaylene laughed and Shala laughed!!! I still laugh every time I think about it! :) BIG typo yesterday!!! “the electricity was sh*t off!!!!” Thanks guys! It was just what I needed to pull my self back up!!!

TODAY, I will not be in the studio. I will do my jail time :) and then Jennifer and I are going to Wichita to pick up my darling daughter from the airport. Her plane doesn’t arrive until like 10:30 tonight but I think I need a break today. A little shopping and a nice dinner :) …sounds good. Just the long and the very late drive home is what I will not be looking forward to!

I will be in the studio tomorrow! We will finally resume our normal hours! And Cox will “move” our phone and internet!! Yea! Things will be back to normal before you or I even know it! Looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

I have a BIG announcement (YES, another!) coming very soon and NO is does not include a move:) but I am so excited about it and it feels so right. It deserves its own post though when everything is in place so until then…

Sneak peek and a little news!

Even though we HAVE moved our phone and internet service has not. If you have tried to call you noticed a constant busy signal. That is because the electricity is shit off at the old location. My apologies. You may reach me on my cell phone 620-617-3434. We are scheduled to have the internet and phone service moved on Wednesday. Who knew that it took 2 weeks. Technology…

Sneak peek of Miss Koelsh…Isn’t she a doll? She has the SAME blue eyes as big brother Sage. I will admit I am way behind on sneak peeks. I keep telling myself that one of these days I will get caught up. Maybe one day it will be true :). I have the best intentions. I will be so glad when this move is behind us. I have two sessions tomorrow and in between we are going to get the final few things left at the old location. Then the fun begins! Unpacking!!!

A Sneak Peek from the FIRST Session at our new location!

We aren’t organized by any means but we are trying to at least get back to a somewhat normal schedule. I think that the new space is going to work out really well. I am still in that stage where it feels kind of weird -ya know not quite like “home” yet? But I know that as we put everything away and settle in, and with each session I will become more and more comfortable here and soon it will be the norm again.

These two little guys were so cute-or should I say handsome :). They came in yesterday for a session. Rylan was celebrating his 1st Birthday. He didn’t touch his cake at home but holy cow! He demolished his cake at the studio!!! Big brother Ethan had recently just turned 3 and those eyes…look out-how can you say no to this one?

The cable and phone lines haven’t been moved yet so I will not be at the new location except for sessions the week. You can reach me on my cell, 620-671-3434 to make appointments or to schedule pick ups. Than you for all of your support and understanding. Studio hours will resume July 1st.

Our new location…

It is with mixed emotion that I announce our move to 2012 Lakin Avenue. As most of you know we had been busy the last several months working and preparing for our anticipated move to Forest Avenue. Due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to realize that dream. I so appreciate Jerry and Kaylene (my present landlords) for “finding” Red Door’s new location. I am very excited to have found a location that will suit us so well. A big perk is that we didn’t have to do a thing to move to Lakin!!! I will be doing a little painting next week just because I like a little color. It isn’t like we haven’t got our fill of painting ya know…I can’t tell you how many gallons we painted on Forest. Oh well…no use crying over spilled milk… :(

Another BIG plus…there is PLENTY of parking…parking lot right to the rear and parking right in front.

Actually there are lots of pluses…a gorgeous brick wall that I can’t wait to photograph against. A separate room to photograph all my babies that I can leave set up all the time…a separate changing area for my seniors and maternities…nice high private windows…a downtown location…and last but certainly not least an office so that you all don’t have to see my messy desk first thing when you walk in :) .

Family sessions will take place as scheduled for tomorrow at our new location…2012 Lakin Avenue, just west of Dawson Jewelers or exactly 2 blocks north of our old location! We aren’t quite settled in yet but I didn’t want to have to reschedule. I am anxious to get back to business as usual. I think it is just going to take me a bit to “catch up” and settle in. Please bear with me. I am as anxious as anyone for “normal” again!

Over the next few weeks we will finish organizing and getting comfortable in our new space. Revised summer hours will be posted, the website will be updated…AND More. Stay tuned!

I believe that everything happens for a reason and I think that Red Door has ended up just where it needs to be. I appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this time of transition. It IS going to be ok. :)
